STORIES
Q: What do you love most about writing?
What I love most is the characters—I love digging deep into their brains, figuring them out, and understanding humanity through them. It honestly feels like I’m crafting new friends or children when I sit down to write. I love writing banter, high emotions, friendships, relationships; all the things that make humans, humans. My ambition is to make relatable characters that will make the readers know they’re not alone—give them someone to laugh or cry with and feel understood and seen.

More Stories By Hannah:
Whispers From Before (I wrote “Of Underwoods and Underworlds”):
A gender-bent retelling of the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone.
Haddie Underwood is a one-woman recipe for magical disasters—but as far as she’s concerned, she’s only livening up her stuffy school. But when a spell goes awry and she sends the headmistress’ son down to the Underworld, Haddie must brave the depths to bring him back home.
What the Underworld has claimed will take an Underwood to get it back.
Seashells - a novella:
Sariah isn't sure what to expect where her persnickety grandmother, Nanny Eleanor, demands that her granddaughter accompany her on a seaside vacation. Still, Sariah is excited for the seashells, sun, and surf: the perfect backdrop for her pirate-filled fantasies. But when Sariah finds a new friend, a merman named George, she’s determined to protect him from the sinister forces that stalk him. Together, they’ll have a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas to save their friendship...and their lives.
And Sariah thought dealing with Nanny Eleanor would be the most dangerous part of her summer.
Amir and the Moon - my very first published novella:
Amir isn’t a good jinni. He’s not even a good BAD jinni, which is what he truly aspires to be. After angering his last master with a wish gone awry, Amir finds himself tossed to the ocean. With a pile of books to read, he decides to start an early retirement-- until he's found by a new master, a little mermaid named Moon who wishes to have legs. Amir is convinced the best thing for Moon-- and his sanity-- is for her to return to the sea and leave him be. To do that, he'll have to break up Moon and the prince she's been in love with for years. But Amir is convinced that the task will be easy: after all, he's an evil jinni. How hard can it be to get a mermaid back where she belongs?
A retelling of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.
Prismatic (I wrote “Potts & Pumpkins” and “A Home for Nova”):
Potts & Pumpkins—In this first outing for Coppelia Potts, Nightmare Hunter, she’s tasked with finding out why pumpkins are coming to life in a farmer’s field and dancing. But is the miscreant mortal or magical?
A Home for Nova—Nova is different, and that’s why she knows she’ll never get adopted. But when a stranger visitor comes to the orphanage, he has a secret that could change her life forever. Maybe being different can help her find a home after all.
The Depths We’ll Go To (I wrote “What the Ocean Stole”):
The ocean has given Connor so much: gills and a tail, a new life. But he also knows there’s something the ocean stole. And something sinister doesn’t want him to remember what it is.
Finding God in Anime (I wrote three My Hero Academia devotions):
Being a Christian can be tough. Being an otaku can be tough. But being both at once?

…and many others! We believe that God can be seen throughout His creation—even in places where people might not intend! So pull out your cosplay and snuggle close with your plushies as you join us in Finding God in Anime.
COMING SOON: The Depths of Atlantis
I also have a debut novel, slated to be published next year! The Depths of Atlantis is such a special story to me because I’ve been working on it for almost ten years now. It’s gone through so many draft and revisions, and it’s almost ready for the public. Almost. So if you like some sociopathic mermaids, grumpy wizards, overzealous fairies and a girl struggling to find her place in multiple dimensions, I hope you’ll keep an eye out for updates concerning Depths of Atlantis!
