TO THE MINI PRIZE WINNERS: Keep an eye on your emails. In a little bit Kassie Angle (TWG Co-Host) will be contacting you to see where she should send your prize! WEEK TWO: Round TwoDATE BEGINS: January 8th 12:00 PM CST ENTRIES DUE: January 13th by 12:00 PM (NOON) CST REQUIREMENT: Write in First Person POV, 100 words or less WORD COUNT: 100 words or less THE MINI CHALLENGE: "Slay your own dragons, princess." (use this prompt as inspiration for your entry: either use it word for word, or just base the events off of it) (NOTE: You do not HAVE to use the mini challenge prompt, however if you do you will receive extra points). ABOUT: Round Two - aka Round Ficta - requires the Writers to write their flash fiction entry in First Person pov, in only 100 words or less. The flash fiction entry can be about anything you'd like, and whether you use the mini challenge or not is up to you (BUT DO NOTE: using The Mini Challenges will give extra points). The Judges are looking for powerful original short stories that portray our 2020 theme, give life to realistic characters, stand firmly on a purpose/plot, and (if you choose) expertly weave this Round's Mini Prompt into it. Only the top ten of the original 30 will be moving on to Round Three. TIP: Take the time to "tighten" your story before submitting. In other words, don't submit something that feels like a snippet taken out of a bigger work, or that leaves you hanging abruptly. Give us a 100 word story that feels complete, and whole, and above all else, let it be meaningful. THE PRIZES: MINI PRIZES About: Mini Prizes are a random draw, which MEANS you don't have to "WIN" The Writer Games to win one of these awesome little prizes! Each round has a different Mini Prize(s) and a varying amount of winners who will be drawn to win the prizes. After you send in your entry for that specific round, you will automatically be entered into a random draw giveaway for the Mini Prize(s) that are available for that Round! Mini Prize winners are announced at the end of each Round. ROUND TWO MINI PRIZES (2 winners will be drawn this round): ~ $5 Amazon Giftcard, ~ 1 duct-tape notebook ~ SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY ~All signups are now closed. Which means, only the 30 writers (listed at the beginning of this round) who were passed to this Second Round will be allowed to submit an entry. For those in Round Two, I will be sending ya'll an email with a link to the submission form for your Round Two 100 word entry. (NOTE: If you don't see our email after today, check your spam box). We're crazy excited to see more of y'all's stories! So pull out your jar of chocolates and some imagination and get writing! Also, make sure to read this post thoroughly as it should tell you everything you need for Round Two, and if you still have a question after that, either comment it below or jump on over to our contact page and shoot us a message.
Happy Writing! ~ Julia, TWG Co-Host. PS. Your Entries are due January 13th by 12:00 PM (NOON) Central Time. No exceptions. If you live in another time zone, please make sure to figure out the correct time so you do not accidentally miss the due date (the submission form will close at the given time so that the judges have the time to grade each entry). ALSO, please mark on your calendars/set a reminder for the 13th so you do not forget the day everything is due. We don't want anyone to miss out because of forgetting or time confusion!

So are the names in order of entry or in order of first place and down? Or are they just all the lucky people who carry on? 😅

Are stories that are about four words over the count allowed, or must they be exactly 100 words?

1) The wordcount has to be exactly 100 words or less, so yes it could be 98 words; But it cannot be 101.
